Badam Milk / Almond Milk



INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup almonds (soaked for about 1 hr)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar(or according to taste)
  • 1/2  tsp cardamom powder
  •  10 strands saffron soaked in warm milk

Method:-

First soak the almonds in water for about an hour.

Then remove the skin from the almonds before grinding them .You can do it by pressing the almonds between your thumb and index finger. The skin will slip off quite easily. I don't remove the skin as it contains many nutrients.

Grind the almonds to a smooth paste in your food processor or blender. Add a little milk to do this.

Mean while heat the milk in a heavy bottomed vessel on low flame, so that it gets thickened to half of the quantity.

Then then add almond paste and sugar .Simmer it down for about 5 mins.Ensure that you stir so that it doesn't burn.

Then add cardamom powder and stir well.Turn off heat.

Stir in saffron soaked in milk .Garnish with silvered Almonds or chopped almonds.

Serve chilled or warm.

Yummy Healthy Badam Milk is ready.
